Post Date:01/07/2017 4:54 PM
MONTGOMERY ' Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange during this week's City Council meeting announced and congratulated the winners of the 2014 Capital City Christmas Parade Float Competition.

'Our parade planners pulled out all the stops for this year's event by combining our annual Christmas parade with festivities for the inaugural Raycom Media Camellia Bowl,' Strange said. 'We were really impressed by the creativity of the float competition contestants this year ' not only the winners, but each and every float entered into the competition. It must have been a tough task for Sam's Club to choose only three winners.'

The winners of the 2014 Capital City Christmas Parade Float Competition included Montgomery Fire/Rescue in the business division, the Alabama State University Golden Ambassadors in the youth/children division and the Cloverdale Idlewild Association in the adult division. Each winner received a $1000 prize thanks to Sam's Club, who has sponsored and judged the annual holiday competition for 12 consecutive years.
